About Kashmiri Embroidery (Aari-work)
Kashmiri embroidery which is also called as the Kashida embroidery is a unique form of art, staying true to the beauty of paradise state. The exquisite needlework and thread work that involves a single long stitch to make the design is indeed one of the most distinguished and beautiful forms of embroidery.
The embroidery is known as Aari or crewel work. It is a speciality of Kashmiri artisans who create it in fine, concentric rings of chain stitch using a long hooked needle known as a crewel.
Handling Instructions
- Handwash with cold water with proper care of its handle.
- Delicate machine cold water wash with extra care of its handle.
- All embroidered bags should be washed with a mild detergent.
- If bleach is required for washing, a small amount of chlorine bleach can be used.
