Oregano
Originating from a mint family (Lamiaceae), Oregano is a culinary herb, used for the flavor of its leaves, which can be more flavorful when dried than fresh. Part of the mint family and first cousin to Oregano, thyme is properly known for its culinary, medicinal, and ornamental uses. Thyme is used both fresh and dried, depending on how it is used in a dish, it is more convenient and perfectly acceptable to substitute dried for whole thyme. In ancient Rome thyme has been used in Royal baths to cure skin ailments and decrease skin ageing.
